Is that sometimes they are just that – funny.
I caught myself laughing out loud yesterday when I thought back to one of the last cab rides Amanda & I had in New York. New York cab drivers really do make their own rules : )
Each time our driver repeatedly revved the engine to get a break in the traffic (and I mean repeatedly as in every few meters or so) Amanda & I were whiplashed horrendously. To the point where in the end we couldn't even look at each other without becoming hysterical.
It was just one of those funny memories that are so good to hold onto for being just that, funny.
Delicate stems of tuberose are so pretty.
I had a fairly productive long weekend how about you? I have almost finished the custom frames for my jewellery organisers, put away all of my new USA shopping, went riding on Saturday afternoon (Matty was a gem!) and assisted judging at another horse event yesterday.
Something else I am very excited about…I also started putting together my very first tutorial to feature soon. I can't wait to share it with you!
Happy Tuesday.
Ralph loves to be a part of whatever I happen to be doing – sewing, beading, knitting, anything. Today it's helping me pin a quilt.
Yesterday I had one of those really good feel good days. Nothing out of the ordinary happened to make it especially better than any other.…it was just a day where it felt particularly nice that the sun was shining, people around me were happy, and even though I have a couple of busy days ahead, it was as if I had not a care in the world. I also had a lovely lunchtime chat with A – another constant reminder of not only our cherished bond as sisters but of our commitment to world domination ‘SMP style’ that never fails to amuse.
And despite feeling a little tired this morning after a very late night last night fulfilling a cake order – today feels like all that goodness is here to stay.
Just a few photos from my weekend. It was great to get away for a few days and my next visit is already planned for calving time…to help pick out my very own.

I am travelling west today to spend a very overdue couple of days with my Dad on his farm at Somerton. Hopefully I won't be too busy digging up birs or rounding up cattle on the quad bike to take a couple of photos to share with you next week!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
Our local agricultural show is on this weekend and I entered these vanilla cupcakes and violet macarons into the cooking section.
It was all a little last minute (having woken up on Friday morning thinking I’d already missed close of entry) but with one last check on the entry form I discovered I had until 12 noon to get them made and delivered to the showground before judging would take place. I wasn’t sure if I would get them there in time but as always there’s nothing quite like a baking challenge to fire me up!
The kitchen looked somewhat like a war zone afterwards, but don’t you think they look amazing?
Over the weekend I finally finished Mum’s quilt. Finally.
It’s hard to believe that it is just shy of 18 months ago since I first chose the fabrics. Sounds ridulous right…18 months for just one quilt?
Well, for about 6 months of that time I had actually hidden it away in the back of my craft cupboard because I thought I didn’t like the colour combination anymore! Crazy really, but it worked. Once I got it back out again I loved them just as much as when I first saw them. They really are ‘Mum’ colours.
And as I was determined to keep it a secret from her, I had to continue finishing other sewing projects whilst hers was a work in progress, so as not to raise any suspicion.
Considering it is only the second quilt I’ve ever made and of my own design, I couldn’ t be happier with how lovely it is!
Her birthday was actually on Valentine’s Day but she was away in Perth, so I’ll be giving it to her tonight. Hope she likes it!
