There’s something really satisfying about a de clutter.
Hands up if you’re with me.
Well, last night I managed to obliterate a mountain of
material (mostly old receipts, hand scribbled grocery notes and the like) that had
been hoarding itself in my home office/craftroom for weeks. Okay, so truthfully
paper cannot multiply unassisted…surprise! It was me, all me together with an ‘I’ll
do that later’ attitude.
Anyway, right about at the point where I could actually see that I did indeed have a
desk under all that stuff, I started wishing I had taken a before and after
photo. You know as proof that you too can have a clutter free zone in minutes
if you JUST DO IT ALREADY. Lucky for you I quickly came to the realisation that
no one is ever really interested in looking at someone else’s junk and instantly
felt better that I’d spared you.
Also, one well known fact about myself is that I tend work so much
more productively in a clutter free zone. Even the hardest of tasks seem easier
if I only have what I need to have around me to get it done, and less of what I don’t.
Sure, it's not rocket science…but sometimes we all need a little reminder.
Weighing in at just 400g back in early June, Archie is now a whopping 1.1kg. He's growing up so fast.
From day one he's been a little beauty. First, I worried he would cry all night after he got put to bed, but instead he always sleeps right through until when he hears my alarm in the morning.
Then, I thought he could well be a fussy eater (as some small breed dogs tend to be) but again, total foodie and eyes off my dinner after polishing off his own. Perhaps he should have been named 'Turkey' because I'm sure before too long he will be the size of one!
And have I mentioned clever? A few weeks ago I taught him to 'sit' with a little help from a tasty beef schmacko after only just a couple of attempts! And yesterday was take two of going for a walk wearing a collar and lead, of which was without much objection. No one needs to know that it's actually a kitten collar and had to punch a few extra holes to shorten it.
Oh that face melts my heart!
Have a great weekend xx
Let me introduce to you Archie. He is a miniature foxy x silky terrier and what he lacks in stature he makes up for in get up and go!
Cutest face of all time right there.
{when a small bed and bone makes him look err… even smaller}
I made a beautiful wedding cake (mentioned back here). You’ll see it in detail very soon.
We celebrated Mother’s Day with a delicious slow cooked chicken dish followed by a white chocolate cheesecake. Yum!
All the trees in our yard turned orange, yellow and red before all but blowing away in the winter wind.
Saw ‘The Great Gatsby’.
And enjoyed one very lazy Sunday. A rarity in itself.
The last few weeks have been a bit of whirlwind to say the
least, so after much debate (in my own head that is) I’ve decided I need to
take a mini break from blogging. It's not you, it's me. Really 🙂
Rather than spend another month beating myself up over sporadically
posting somewhat disconnected content, I'm hoping that after a time out for myself for the whole
month of May…eek, I will come back refreshed and full of renewed enthusiasm.
See you back here in June
xx

Well peeps, after a few chilly nights and early mornings I think it's safe to say that Autumn has arrived. I love this time of year because while the days are still sunny and bright, at night I can curl up with a cozy blanket. Best of both worlds right?
Is not solely to blame for my blogging absence of late, however pair it with completing two competition wedding cakes in a total of two and a half days and well, there you have it. Sheer madness I kid you not.
But isn't it just the sweetest thing? And I promise it tastes even better. I would go and get one right now from my kitchen except it means having to walk there. Pathetic I know, but I need a moment or two to contemplate it. Who knew the past few days would leave me feeling like I'd been hit by a bus.
Would I do it all over again…ah, hell yeah :)
In fact, my lovely hairdresser is getting married next month and asked would I do their cake. What an honour and of course I said yes! We're meeting together next week to discuss details and I can't wait to start putting together a few designs and colour options.
Anyway enough contemplating, I'm off to go get me that cupcake.
Enjoy your weekend xx
A few weekends ago I had a very quick (and not to mention long overdue) trip to Sydney to visit Amanda and Colin. On the Saturday A and I had a lovely wander around the city, stopping first to have macarons and tea at the Laduree cafe.
Flavours: salted caramel, violet, vanilla & raspberry.
Loved the sweet pink teacups and mini topiary garden.
After some more window shopping and a visit to Sweet Art (to check out their window displays) it was onto Miss Chu for rice paper rolls. Suckling Roast Pork to be precise. So good.
After dinner that night (consisting of the most delicious, melt in my mouth steak prepared from the big man himself) we drove back into the city to walk around the harbour. Although very windy, it was otherwise a gorgeous night to take some time out to appreciate how beautiful the city lights really are.
Clearly something hilarious was going on for this one….perhaps it was when we finally gave up trying to keep our hair out of faces!
