Favourite for this week…
These two favourites from Sweet Bestiary.
My new custom-made cotton box is just too cute not to share. Due to all of my recent sewing projects, my cotton collection was fast outgrowing the container I had previously been storing them in. They needed a new home…and it had to be pretty!
I had a couple of lovely wooden craft boxes with clear lids that I was yet to find a use for, so after giving them a little trim down with a circular saw (my boxes were initially quite deep) they were joined together back to back, painted, and lined with patterened paper – gorgeous!
I love the fact that it is reversible, so when the first tray is full I can just flip it over and have a new rainbow of colours on the other side.

Love these baby breath poms from Cecilia Fox.
from Sara Paloma.
I am not usually one for New Years resolutions etc, but found it almost impossible today not to think of what the beginning of a new year means to me.
I hope in 2012 I will learn to say no to myself more often and no to others less. Be more patient, worry less, smile and laugh A LOT. Forgive what I cannot change.
And just be the best person I can be.
Now that the initial rush of Christmas and all of the entertaining that goes along with it, has passed, I can now enjoy some time out to feed my sewing addiction.
Yesterday afternoon I made a tunic dress (in just a few hours) and loved it so much I decided to make another one today, out of a striking caramel/black zebra print. Being so petite I find it hard to find clothes that fit really well, but this pattern is true to size and really easy to follow.
Aside from clothes sewing, I also have three quilts that are in various stages of completion. Yes, I did say three. Some may call it madness – I call it therapy!
